Jessie Rajala Chapin (pictured) and her band, Lyndon Froese on lead guitar and Kevin Epp on keyboards and accordion entertained a full house at the Gibraltar Room July 28 during the Concrete Fitness Performances in the Park (held indoors due to rain) with songs written by Chapin and popular old songs from earlier decades. She has a special love for songs from the 40s and 70s.

Singer/songwriter Amber Bowen of 100 Mile House entertained the crowd with several songs she had written and finished off her set with a Janis Joplin style version of the blues song Me and Bobby McGee during the Concrete Fitness Performances in the Park event held in the Gibraltar Room, July 28 due to rain.

The Gibraltar Room was filled to capacity for the concert which also featured the Jessie Rajala Chapin Band and singer/songwriter Amber Bowen.

Musicians, visual artists, dancers, puppeteers, actors, filmmakers, writers, and sundry oddballs without category are lined up for the eighth annual ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art happening this weekend in Wells.

Two more noon-hour documentaries will be shown at the Station House Gallery in August to highlight the Common Threads Exhibition of exotic hand-crafted textiles from India, and other eastern countries.

The Community Fun Days at Bell-E-Acres Golf Course will take place during the August long weekend, from July 30 to Aug. 1.
