In case you don’t already know, we here at the Grove Art Gallery offer an exciting four-day summer camp for kids aged seven to 13.  Kids will get to engage and play with a variety of art projects, as well as get out into nature to learn about the local flora and fauna at Harbour Quay, where our gallery is located.

These camps run Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Each day has a core idea or theme to it, so there will be lots of variety while allowing space for campers to pursue their own passions too.

If kids can’t commit to a full four-day camp, we also offer a special half-day art camp on Fridays. These camps are three hours, running from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These shorter day camps focus on one particular activity, ranging from bubble making to magic tricks or art studies. Each student will take home their very own ‘crafty critters’ t-shirt printed by Cloud City Apparel.

The first week of camp begins July 7; Crafty Critters runs until Aug. 22. Don’t miss out on getting your kiddos registered, as these camps fill up quickly. Register now via our website, alberniarts.com/crafty-critters-summer-camps/.

Cast your votes for "Voices Unveiled”

Featuring incredibly strong visuals and voices, our newest exhibition, "Voices Unveiled," is a must see! This show will only be here for a short while. It officially opened May 27 and will be on display until June 14.

Featuring the talents of our local youth from Alberni District Secondary School, this show centres on the themes of social justice, climate change, and art itself. Come and sign our guest book as well as cast your votes for the following categories: most thought provoking, community favourite, and most creative.

Thanks to the Port Alberni Toy Run society, we will be able to give the winner of each category a $200 cash prize.
