Williams Lake seniors draw weekend crowd with Junk in the Trunk

The Seniors Activity Centre was the one-stop shop for garage sale patrons on June 7

The Seniors Activity Centre was livening up the centre of town on a Saturday with their Junk in the Trunk sale event on June 7.

It was more than a community garage sale, the event included a food truck featuring mini donuts and coffee and music care of the Cariboo Gold Dance Band.

The centre rented out parking spots in order to provide an opportunity for the community to gather and host a "one-stop shop" garage sale, explained Kylie Green, activity centre manager.

"It was really well-received," she said.

Green said 30 parking spots were rented to community members and two of those spots were even reserved by a couple of people selling vintage cars. One of the two sold at the event.

Offered as a community service, any proceeds generated by the rental of the parking spots will go back into supporting programs at the activity centre.
