Any last minute shoppers out there who are in a rush, can get a hand from some students this Saturday.

French Immersion students from Columneetza Secondary School and Lake City Secondary School will be offering to wrap gifts for a few bucks on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Next General Mercantile in downtown Williams Lake.

The students have been offering the service for two Saturdays already, helping shoppers and gift-givers deliver the goods, while also raising funds for a class trip.

In the Spring of 2026, the French-speaking students will be travelling to Monteal, Quebec to enjoy some real-life immersion in Quebecois culture, cuisine and of course, language.

Next General Mercantile is located at 66 Third Avenue N. in Williams Lake.
