Although the final numbers are not quite in, it’s safe to say more than 450 Christmas meals were served at this year’s Yuletide Dinner.
An annual event, the dinner is hosted by the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre (CCCDC) with the help of many volunteers in the community, including the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
“It was a very big success,” said Tammy Deausy, operations manager for the CCCDC.
“We are always so taken aback by the volunteers and generosity of individuals and local businesses who donate to the dinner.”
Deausy thanked The Laughing Loon and Chef Dave for their efforts in organizing and preparing the meal, along with the efforts of Saint Vincent de Paul and all the other volunteers who helped make the evening special, such as volunteer girl guides and North Stars Hockey Academy players who helped serve and clean up.
