Scout Island Nature Centre is hosting a number of workshops and opportunities to not only get outside, but engage in positive ways with nature. This week there was an opportunity to build bird boxes with Loyd Csizmadia and Martin Kruus on July 3.

The two were offering a free bird box building workshop with a free bat box building workshop on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There was also a photography forum, plant identification workshop and a birdwatching for absolute beginners event. The events were open for most skill levels and ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
