The sun shone on the first ever Seedy Saturday and Early Bird Market joint event this Saturday, May 4.
A combination of the annual Seedy Saturday garden sale and the first market of the Williams Lake Farmers’ Market Association’s season, the event attracted garden and market enthusiasts of all ages to the parking lot beside Kiwanis Park. By Seedy Saturday organizer Deb Radolla’s own estimation, close to 400 people were in attendance over the course of the day, with people showing up at 9 a.m. before the 10 a.m. opening.

Attendees were treated to fresh food, newly grown plants, fertilizer and even artwork from over 30 vendors in attendance. Vendors told the Tribune in passing they were pretty well busy the entire day helping customers.
This event marks the beginning of the Williams Lake Farmers’ Market season, which will resume every Friday at the usual time for the rest of the summer in the parking lot adjacent to Kiwanis Park by the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex.
Radolla and the other organizers wished to thank everyone for their support and attendance at the event and plan to repeat it next year.
