Staff from Taseko Mines Gibraltar Mine were making dinner easy for Williams Lakers on Wednesday, May 14.
A free barbecue was being provided, handing out grilled burgers, hot dogs, chips and pop for people to celebrate Mining Month in B.C.
The province declared May Mining Month, with a proclamation signed by His Majesty King Charles III, to recognize the foundational role mining has played in B.C. and the substantial contribution the industry makes to the lives of all British Columbians.
"Whereas mining occurs in every region of the province and benefits communities across British Columbia, both urban
and rural, supporting tens of thousands of jobs," states the proclamation.
There was a steady lineup in front of Save On Foods as the Gibraltar team provided the popular dinner option for the community.
