The Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin held a tea and bake sale on the main floor of the Seniors Activity Centre on Sunday, Dec. 3.
An annual fundraiser for the museum, the event offered residents the opportunity to enjoy a visit with friends or family.
In the lower level of the centre the Cowboy Christmas Craft Fair was taking place.
Vendor Bryan Poffenroth of Riske Creek said he started making bits and spurs about 20 years ago.
“I didn’t like the engraving much and the silverwork, but that’s what I’ve ended up wanting to do more. I like it the best,” he said.
Mostly self-taught he has learned some things from others.
A rancher, he and his wife Raylene run the old Becher Ranch.
“I moved out 36 years ago from Alberta,” he said.
Last week city council approved a grant-in-aid in the amount of $2,500 for seed funding for a new Cowboy Christmas event.
