Fundraiser to protect wild salmon planned in Qualicum Bay

The ʼNa̱mǥis invite the community to a traditional feast and evening of culture sharing on Qualicum First Nation territory on May 24.

"A Feast and Evening of Culture and Information Sharing", a fundraising event to protect wild salmon, will be held at the Lighthouse Community Hall at 5 p.m.

The funds are intended for an ongoing legal campaign by the ʼNa̱mǥis Nation to ban salmon farms.

Ticket holders will enjoy a traditional feast; witness traditional dances; and hear remarks from ʼNa̱mǥis Hereditary Chief Homiska̱nis Don Svanvik; scientist and best-selling author Alexandra Morton; master canoe carver Tutakwisnapšiƛ Joe Martin; speaker T’suxt’sa’esagame Kevin Cranmer; and Kwakwaba'las Ernest Alfred.

The Lighthouse Community Hall is located at 240 Lions Way.
