Disc golf event raises accessibility awareness

The Williams Lake Accessability Advisory Committee kicked off National AccessAbility Awareness Week Sunday, May 25, hosting an event at the Boitanio Disc Golf Course. 

A free Playing in My Shoes disc golf clinic ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for people to test their hand at a series of challenges, including:

- Wheelchair throw

- Wrong arm throw

- Blindfolded throw

- Earplug throw

- Taped hand throw

Each challenge invited participants to experience the sport from a new perspective - promoting disc golf diversity, accessibility and inclusivity for all ages and abilities.

The Boitanio Disc Golf Course features an accessible course layout.
