Congratulations to Lorne Doerkson for his re-election as Cariboo Chilcotin’s MLA. During his first term he was always there to help his constituents and we expect he will do the same this time.
Thanks to Michael Moses for running as a candidate. Our democracy depends on having a choice of who governs us, and thankfully there are people like Michael who care enough to run for office. Michael will be welcomed back at city council.

Ghosties and ghoulies will be trick-or-treating tonight. The Williams Lake bunch will be enjoying traditional treats and fireworks at the Stampede Grounds later. This Halloween tradition is something the city has done for decades. Fun for both kids and adults

During the last few weeks, the news, be it in newspapers, Facebook or whatever, has focused on politics — the B.C. election, the U.S. election and the shenanigans in Ottawa. I suspect they will remain newsy for awhile because of the election results here, and win or lose, Donald Trump is unlikely to shut up. The fuss around the federal liberal party leadership isn’t likely to go away soon either. Whatever the outcomes are, let’s hope it will end with politicians being friendlier with each other.
One odd happening in the B.C. election is that some voters got mixed up and thought they were voting against Mr. Trudeau. So much for modern communications.

Back to standard time this weekend. Some U.K. scientists have come up with health reasons why daylight saving should be abolished. I agree. And, speaking of scientists, more scientist and academics are saying human activity is pushing the world into a danger zone. Do our politicians not believe this, or do they believe and not care?
November starts tomorrow. Will it bring better times, worse times or more of the same?
