Well, we have a new leader. Congratulations Mark Carney.
Mr. Carney has had a wee bit of experience as PM so he knows what he's in for. Dealing with President Trump is the big one, the president is a slippery foe. Mr. Carney is a statesman and I'm sure he'll handle that with dignity.
Other challenges could include coping with a negative Opposition, and of course there are social and economic issues too.
Along with all of this, Mr. Carney must show the world we are a proud independent and economically secure country. His background will help him with that.
Let's hope city council will continue to involve the public in developing our Community Plan. The more people involved the better.
Some individual will have an idea nobody thought of.
Two ideas have been suggested to me. We need a good theatre, and we should make more use of the Thompson Rivers University Williams Lake campus.
Williams Lake has ample sports facilities but nothing for the arts. We do have what I believe is the oldest acting society in B.C.
Many cities our size depend on their universities for their economic security. Maybe it's time we looked at our university as our economic asset.
