Salmon Arm financial advisor Dustin Serviss is organizing a fun series of four races involving local businesses at Salmon Arm Go-Karts & Mini Golf, with the first taking place on July 23, 2025.

Dustin Serviss is feeling the need, the need for high-performance go-kart speed.

Fresh from seeing a Formula 1 race in Monaco, and hitting a go-kart track with his family while visiting Portugal, the Salmon Arm financial advisor and author has thrown down his racing gloves, challenging local businesses to put the pedal to the metal in a bit of fun competition at Salmon Arm Go-Karts & Mini Golf.

"Everyone likes to say their business is the best so maybe we can settle it on the track," laughed Serviss, who has sent out invitations to local businesses with the goal of having 12 teams take part in eight morning races over four Wednesdays. Invitees were asked to "bring your A-game or send your fastest team member. Or rotate them week to week."

Serviss said participating racers will be up against the clock.

"Each race is eight minutes, and each kart has a timer on it so you’re racing the clock, it won’t be a race against each other… it will be timed and everyone’s lap times will be posted," said Serviss.

On each of the days there will be a bonus race for the top five fastest drivers.

As of June 19, six teams had registered, each paying an entry fee to cover the track rental and prizes. Apart from supporting Salmon Arm Go-Karts, Serviss stressed the races all about "bringing great people together and making Wednesdays legendary."

"This isn’t a Serviss Wealth event, this is just me – I just know all these people, let’s get everyone together," said Serviss.

The races are planned for July 23 and 30, and Aug. 6 and 13, all beginning at 8:30 a.m.

"We’ll track the leader board, hand out weekly updates, and finish with a write-up in the local paper naming the winning team in Salmon Arm," explained Serviss in his invitation.
