Williams Lake’s Wallin sisters win once again at Alberta Cup

Cross-country ski racers continue to top the podiums with their speed on snow

Lakecity sisters Anika and Nadia Wallin once again were standing atop podiums for their cross-country skiing last weekend.

Anika placed second in one event and Nadia managed one first place and one third in the Alberta Cup races in Canmore, Alta. on Dec. 9, 10.

Anika earned her second place spot in the U18 girls 7.5 km classic ski on the Sunday, fighting her way back from a fall to make the podium. Anika was seventh in a tight skate sprint race on the Saturday.

Nadia placed third among all of the U16 girls 6 km classic event on the Sunday, and first in her individual age category.

She also brought home a first place finish on the Saturday in the 750 m skate sprint ski, out of a field of 35 racers who finished the event.
