Williams Lake speed skaters take top spots in inter-club challenge

Speed skaters from Williams Lake ranked among the top three in their categories at a January 25 inter-club challenge in Salmon Arm.

In their respective divisions, Matanna LaBounty-Jalbert, six, came in first, Logan Kelly-Jalbert, nine, came in second and Kayden Ford-Jalbert, 17, came in third. Kelly-Jalbert beat three of his personal best times, and Ford-Jalbert beat two of his own. 

Bhoomake Suapa also beat three of his personal best times, and came in eleventh for his division.

The team is now preparing to head to the Coyote Cup hosted by the Kamloops Long Blades before racing off to the BC Championships in Prince George in March.
