Williams Lake, Quesnel winners at Slo-Pitch tournament July 5,6

Sixteen teams from the region played in the Williams Lake Kings and Queens tournament

Rowdy Chix of Williams Lake take first at the King and Queens Slo-Pitch tournament in Williams Lake on the first weekend of July 2025.

A Williams Lake women's team and a Quesnel men's team won the Kings and Queens Slo-Pitch tournament at the Esler Complex in Williams Lake on July 5 and 6. 

Rowdy Chix of Williams Lake  won 26-9 over Acres of Bases from Prince George.

Third place went to Fafo Ladies from Kamloops. 

Bears from Quesnel won 13-11 over Fafo from Kamloops, with Shit Show from Williams Lake taking third. 

"We had a full tournament of 16 teams for our tournament at the Esler Complex," said Williams Lake Slo-pitch president Linda Barbondy-Rich. "Teams came from Bella Coola, Kamloops, Prince George, Quesnel and our local teams." 

On Saturday, the teams played a four-game round robing seeding game. 

First place teams won $1,400 plus a $50 Lotto pack, second place got $900 and a $50 Lotto pack, while third place teams won $450 and a $50 Lotto pack, said Barbondy-Rich, adding the next tournament will be the Williams Lake Slo-Pitch League year-end Aug. 14 to 17. 

"Right now we are fundraising to build a sunshade picnic shelter between fields one and four and improve our playground," she said. 

The Quesnel Mixed Slo-Pitch League will be having a tournament this weekend.
