While snow has finally blanketed the auto racing track at Thunder Mountain Speedway, executive members are busy planning next season’s 2019 festivities.
Thunder Mountain Speedway recently released its 2019 race schedule which promises to showcase all sorts of adrenaline-pumping action spread across nine weekends of racing in Williams Lake.
The race season kicks off May 25, 2019 with the Tech ‘n’ Tune. Spectators are welcome at the pit gate with the donation of a non-perishable food or toy appreciated.

On June 1 things officially get underway for the speedway with its Season Opener where bonus points will be on the line for all of TMS’s local classes including the Williams Lake Forestry Supplies/NAPA Stree Stocks, Bone Stocks, Pro Minis and Sportsman. Qualifying is at 4 p.m., racing is at 5 p.m.
June 15, the always fast and exciting WESCAR Late Model Touring Series makes its stop in Williams Lake. On top of WESCAR racing, local classes will be in action, which gets underway at 5 p.m. (qualifying) and 6 p.m. (racing).
June 28, for Williams Lake Stampede weekend, the fan-favourite Hit to Pass, Smoke Show and King of the Hill will provide all the hard-hitting destruction race goers have come accustomed to over the years, before the following day, June 29, the Stampede Racing All Class Invitational and Tri-City Street Stock Series Race will light up the track in Williams Lake.
On July 27 Dairy Queen hosts its Christmas in July and Fan Appreciation Night.
On Aug. 10, a special event begins with qualifying at 4 p.m. and racing at 5 p.m. for the Canadian Tire Memorial Race, all classes and regular points event.
The Doug Larson Memorial, West Coast Vintage Racing and Mini Special will follow on Aug. 24, before the 2019 Grand Finale Points Championship and Day of Destruction hit to Pass closes out the season on Sept. 7.
