The Central Vancouver Island Rage U15B rep team, in association with Oceanside Minor Softball, hosted their U15 Island Mayhem Tournament at McGirr Athletic Fields in Nanaimo on May 24 and May 25. The two-day event, organized by the Oceanside Minor Softball, drew teams from Vancouver Island as well as the Lower Mainland and Interior. The Rage reached the final and won the silver medal, losing in the final against the formidable Okanagan Elite U15B, who were in dominating form throughout the tournament, winning 7-0 to clinch the gold medal. The Oceanside Minor Softball Association will next host the BC U15B Provincial Championships, July 11 to July 13, also at McGirr Athletic Fields. "We have a great group of hard-working volunteers that are making everything come together," said Kris Hagen, OMSA presdient.
