Wrestling and boxing made for an action and entertainment-packed evening on Jan. 25

Pro wrestling fans had an opportunity for some sweet ringside seats on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Williams Lake.

Sub Zero was a night of wrestling and one boxing match, featuring some local and some not-so-local talent in the lakecity at the Limelight Arts and Entertainment Theatre.

The event was hosted and produced by Kool Pro Wrestling and Boxing.

A sizable crowd came out to cheer on the athletes, with the action underway around 7 p.m. and there was swag to purchase, a concession and six matches to enjoy.

"Sue" Krewl came out first, looking only a little bit ladylike under a wig as he faced off against local favourite Hot Spice.

While Krewl may have "sort of" won the match, Spice was the fan favourite, getting all the cheers as she left ring.

Luke "the Duke" James said a few words warning the crowd against the dangers of drugs, asking everyone to bow their heads for a 10-count in honour of his nephew, who he lost to an overdose recently.

The Duke then met Buck Wild Crowchild in the ring, defeating Crowchild.

This was followed by a boxing match touted as the Rebel Fit Championship match, showcasing some local boxers, Duncan McLellan matching up with True Lively. Duncan McLellan retained the title by a decision.

"The Dream" Matt Reym met Wrath on the mat next, and the Wrath provided an impressive entrance, with an intimidating mask giving any opponent something to think about. Reym won the match, defeating Wrath.

After an intermission, The Young Lion Jake Woods was in the ring with MPW heavyweight champion Massive Damage for the Cariboo County Heavyweight Championship bouth. Both men got some good crowd response, and while a Lion he may be, Woods appeared a little intimidated by Massive Damage as things got underway. Damage lived up to his name and dealt a decisive defeat to the Lion, retaining his title.

The final face off was between Stu Krewl and Bainz the Destroyer. Bainz the Destroyer defeated Krewl in the main event.

The all-ages event featured lots of action to keep the fans focused on the ring.
