The Williams Lake Peewee Tier 2 Timberwolves have clinched home ice advantage for the first round of the Cariboo Amateur Hockey Association playoffs, which begin late February.
The lakecity club piled up two wins on its northern rival, the Prince George Peewee Cougars, over the weekend at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex.
The first, Saturday, ended 6-2 for Williams Lake.
The T-wolves jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two periods and held on for the win.
William Paynton led the way for the T-wolves with three goals and one assist. Other scorers included Trey Thomas, Lane Wycotte and Rylen Williamson. Daine DuBois also chipped in with a pair of assists.
Sunday morning, the final score was 4-1 Williams Lake.
DuBois led the T-wolves with three goals while teammate Jordan Bunce added a lone marker in the winning effort. Trey Thomas chipped in with two assists.
T-wolves netminder Hayden Lyons was solid in net as was the defensive core in front of him, limiting Prince George to just a handful of scoring chances in the contest.
This weekend the T-wolves are off to a nine-team tournament in Quesnel.
