Upwards of 90 people flocked to Horsefly May 11 for the annual Horsefly Fun Run.
“It was great to see such a happy group enjoying our beautiful community,” said Lonnie Rolph, one of the event’s organizers and member of the Horsefly Fun Run committee.
She also thanked all of the businesses for their tremendous support in helping make the event possible: Williams Lake Log Haulers, Horsefly Realty, Horsefly Women’s Institute and RE/MAX Realty Williams Lake.
The Horsefly Fun Run began at 9 a.m. with registration at the rink in Horsefly.
Buses then transported runners to the starting line at Moffat Falls.

Matt Graham brought home the win in the men’s division, with Hana Hein winning in the ladies’ division.
“We were pleased with the turnout from our community, plus Williams Lake and beyond,” Rolph said.
“We had great comments, looking forward to seeing everyone back next year.”
Additionally, Rolph thanked volunteers Chantelle Beadman-Rolph, Brad Price, Ron and Eleanor Godlonton, Amanda Fuller, Judy Emmelkamp, Deb Peters, Tracy Janzen, Bob Zumwalt and members of the Horsefly 4-H Club.
“Last, but not least, the members of SAWS (Seniors Activity and Wellness Society), who served a delicious lunch following the run,” she said.
Clarke’s General Store staff, meanwhile, were busy handing out and receiving entries plus donated ice, while Cool Clear Water supplied water for the run stations, with Horsefly Interior Roads providing signage.
