Gravel cyclists from across Western Canada will converge on the UFV Campus on Saturday, May 10, for the annual Goodride Gravel event — an off-road cycling race and adventure experience celebrating grit, adventure, and the joy of riding.
Now in its second year, Goodride Gravel offers multiple route options ranging from beginner-friendly loops to challenging long-distance rides, all set against the scenic backdrop of spectacular Fraser Valley scenery. The event draws riders of all skill levels, from pro racers to weekend warriors, and provides a vibrant community for both competitors and cruisers.
"This ride is about connecting with the land, your bike, and each other," said Dean Dahl, event coordinator. "Gravel riding is the fastest growing segment in the cycling industry. Goodride Gravel is our way of bringing people together to explore the incredible gravel routes we have right here in our backyard."
Start times are 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon from Petawawa Rd, with the Event Village opening at 7:30 a.m. Participants choose from routes of 40km, 100km and 125km, with rider aid stations and route support along the way.
Proceeds from the event support launching the Owen Vermeulen Foundation, whose mission it is to harness the transformative power of cycling to help individuals overcome addiction and chronic relapse.
Registration is open until midnight Thursday, May 8 at www.haveagoodride.com. For more information, contact:
