95th Williams Lake Stampede one for the books

Successful weekend marked by three days of sell-out crowds

The final performance of the 95th Annual Williams Lake Stampede went off without a hitch Sunday, July 2.

Sunday marked three days of sold out crowds, who turned out to watch the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association-sanctioned rodeo.

The day also saw the finals in the Mountain Race, Wild Cowgirl Race and Wild Horse Race.

Jesse Chillihitzia of Merritt won in the Mountain Race after winning all four races over the weekend.

Mountain racer Darren Sulin of Towdystan did not ride Sunday after breaking his collarbone during a fall in the race Saturday afternoon.

In the Wild Cowgirl Race it was Kayle Harrman on Turbo from 100 Mile House who took first place.

Amanda Lulua and her horse Pippi from 150 Mile House took second place while Lisa Parfiniuk from Krestova and her horse Flower took third.

There were two competitors in the bull riding.

More to come on all the rodeo results
