Some win, some lose, that's the way it goes. Sometimes you do everything you can do to win and lose anyway. It can be heartbreaking.
That's what happened to Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre. Although he lost the election and his seat, I believe he is still leader of the Opposition. We will see where it goes from here.
So Mark Carney will continue as our Prime Minister having squeezed out a majority government. I can't imagine that the newly-elected MPs have much desire for another election any time soon so he is probably safe from a non-confidence vote.
I wish more NDP and Green party members had been elected. They both offer some valuable viewpoints an incumbent government does not always think of.
And, this is the long one. I hope there will be no hate in this parliament. Members don't have to love each other and that would be a stretch but they can treat each other with respect, not the ugly.
No leader can be perfect, but I believe Prime Minister Carney will be OK. Canada is a good country now, if the Conservatives stay with their "Canada first," logo, and work together with the Liberal government, maybe we could be a great country.

Laying in a hospital bed for what seems like forever can make one crabby. That's my excuse. I was beat out of shape because the hospital had no polling place, so how could I vote? I've voted in every election and at my age, this could be my last vote.
Well, it turned out Deni House had a polling place and they sent two pollers to get hospital patients' votes.
All my fuss for nothing. and, as I was able to vote, I can still take my part in making the world go around.
