Change takes place from within, not from without

In response to Michael Atwood’s letter to the editor, “Look beyond Liberal and NDP parties for positive change,” Tuesday, March 8, Tribune Viewpoints:

I couldn’t agree with you more, Mr. Atwood. Except I would suggest that change takes place from within, not from without.

This may be a difficult thought for some to accept. However, changing our political parties is not the answer.

A new political party could be just as bad as the ones we have. The change needs to occur from within and can only be done by the active engagement of the public.

Say what we want about Gordon Campbell, at least he got us all on the same page for possibly the first time in B.C.’s history, when it came to the HST.

That unity amongst the public is what will create the desired change, not a new political party.
