William (Bill) O'Donovan, died peacefully just short of his 95th birthday on Wednesday, March 26 in North Vancouver.

Born in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland, he emigrated to Williams Lake in 1952. Two years later he married Mary Christie, and they would spend the next 70+ years together. He was a power engineer for more than 25 years and later transitioned to Canada Post, retiring in 1989. He loved music and had a beautiful tenor voice, that was heard at numerous Robbie Burns nights, St. Patrick's Day celebrations, weddings, funerals, and in the Sacred Heart Church choir. His voice could also be heard on stage as a member of the Williams Lake Player's Club, in productions in the 1950's and 60's. He gave back to his community through volunteering, including many years as a Flight Officer with the Air Cadets and serving at the Knights of Columbus Stampede breakfast.

Following retirement, his passion for travelling and meeting new people took he and Mary throughout the world.

A final move to White Rock, saw them enjoying the milder weather and ocean side walks.

Bill was predeceased by his daughters Maureen and Geraldine, as well as his parents, Patrick and Jane O'Donovan, and his three brothers, John, Michael and Patrick.

He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary, and his children Bill (Audry), Siobhan Posnikoff (Dave), Seán (Valynne), and Bernard. His grandchildren, Patrick (Heather), Craig (Marika), Tim (Darcie), Denis (Ashley), Katie (Connor), Brenna (Brendan), Sinéad (Matt), and Dylan (Indy), as well as 11 great-grandchildren. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who have fond memories of their time with Uncle Bill.

True to his Irish heritage raise a glass in his memory. Slàinte
