Pauline Judith Polehoyke, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Born on September 22, 1934, Pauline lived a life filled with warmth, creativity, and generosity. She was widely known for her passion for baking, a skill she mastered with finesse and dedication.
Pauline's talent in the kitchen was recognized through numerous accolades, as she proudly claimed victory in multiple fall fairs and baking competitions. Her delectable creations not only delighted taste buds but also brought joy to those fortunate enough to savor them.
Pauline, alongside her beloved husband Nestor, created a welcoming haven for family and friends. Their home was a hub of laughter and camaraderie, where weekly card games and gatherings were infused with love and hospitality. Their commitment to fostering connections extended beyond their home, as they engaged in community activities such as being a Tupperware representative and excelling in copper craft sales, earning her the esteemed position of second in Canada.
In addition to her culinary talents and community involvement, Pauline was also known for her compassionate nature. She opened her home to the elderly, serving as their caregiver for many years. Her selflessness and nurturing spirit touched the lives of those under her care, offering comfort and companionship in their later years.
Pauline is survived by her sons Dean, Brian, and Reg, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved mother.
She was predeceased by her daughter Debra and husband Nestor.
A celebration of Pauline's life will be held on July 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 377 Hodgson Road, Williams Lake.
