Born in Ashcroft and Raised in Dog Creek, 85 kilometres Southwest of Williams Lake. She was born to Joseph Place Jr. and Violet (Lyne).
Millie met Walter Olson mining along the Fraser River. On June 30 1942 they were married. Walter enlisted in Canadian Army. He left during the Second World War.
Millie returned to The Dog Creek Ranch to help out with work. In 1953 Millie, Lavina and Walter moved to the far end of Canim Lake for Work.
Walter died in 1977, Millie stayed until she moved to be near her daughter in Williams Lake.
Millie leaves her only daughter Lavina Feiker, three grandsons Wayne (Simone), Brian and Calvin and two Great Grandchildren Ross, Michael.
