April 14, 1932 - December 28, 2020
Mag was born in Klepp, Norway to Østen and Bergliot Nesse. He immigrated to Canada with his wife Solveig
and two small daughters in April of 1957 at the age of 25. For the first few years the young family lived in the lower mainland, then relocating to Williams Lake in the summer of 1961.
Mag enjoyed small town life. As a master craftsman he easily found employment with local contractors until he opened his own business Nesse Millwork. Later taking on a partner Joe Hyde who became his life-long friend.
Sadly Solveig predeceased Mag in 1977. Their son Michael passed away in 1997. Other family members to predecease him were his younger siblings, a sister Øybjorg Tjøtta in 1992 and younger brother Øystein in 1942.
Time passed and Mag found love once more, building a new life with his wife Helen. The couple enjoyed many adventures together including a trip to Norway and spending time on the Harness Racing Circuit in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Retirement on their 50 acre farm at 140 MIle House was where Mag could be seen training his beautiful Standardbred horses.
Our dad lived a long and productive life leaving us with memories that will see us through the days to come. Mag is survived by his wife Helen Tattersall and his children Tove (Ron) Lowe, Brit (Ed) Olynick, Shirley Nesse, Lillian (John) Pitts. Also close to Mag were his blended family Gail Erickson, Mark (Karen) Erickson, Howard (Caroline) Erickson, Earl (Tamara) Erickson, many grand and great grandchildren, sister Hjørdis (Jørgen ) Nesse along with nieces and nephews in Norway.
Mags ashes will be laid to rest at the Williams Lake Cemetery at a later date. A family memorial will be held when borders are once again open and Covid 19 restriction lifted to accommodate family in Arizona and Washington States.
