In Loving Memory ~

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2023. Judy Johnston passed peacefully surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Judy will be missed, but her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of her family, friends and the Cariboo community.

Judy was born 7lbs and 7 oz and was born on the 7th month (July) on the 7th day. She was laid to rest on Oct 7th and she passed at age 77.

Judy moved to the Cariboo in 1972 after marrying the "Love of Her Life", Ken Johnston, and the Cariboo quickly became her home. Judy loved the ties to the land and love of animals, the local residents of the Cariboo had. Judy was extremely proud of this community and all that it stands for.

Judy was actively involved in showing and breeding Arabian horses and breeding high quality Standard Poodles. Judy also was a beef producer of the Canadian breed, Speckle Parks, which were her passion.

Judy loved all animals and life; she embraced life to fullest and was very active on the ranch and in her family. Like many Cariboo residents, Judy was strong and resilient.

Judy is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Frieda Dyrda and her sister Patricia Read.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ken Johnston, her brother, Keith (Dixie) Dyrda, her sister, Pam Dyrda, her sons Troy (Michelle) Johnston, Tyrone (Ingrid) Johnston and her grandchildren (Taylor, Jenai, Nick, Lucia, Scarlett, Jeremiah and Ivory); And all of her wonderful friends and extended family.
