May 25, 1942 - April 7, 2025

In loving memory ~

On Monday April 7, 2025, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was carried gently into Jesus' arms; his final and heavenly home. Jim is now reunited with his mother, Helen, his father, Allan, and many other people he loved who left before him.

Jim met his wife Sharon DeWalt in 1949 when they were 7 and 5 respectively, at which time he declared to his mother that he was going to marry that girl. That declaration was a blessing to all of us and they were married in Tweedsmuir, Saskatchewan on December 17, 1963. Throughout their 61 years of marriage they adoringly welcomed 5 children, Dolly (Jeff) in 1965, Penny (Dave) in 1966, Bonnie (Wayne) in 1967, Jimmy (Kris) in 1968 and Cindy (Marty) in 1971. Their family continued to grow as they were given the gift of 17 grandchildren, and up to this date, 25 great-grandchildren.

Jim was a true animal lover and found a lot of amusement in running his farm alongside his wife and any of the children that shared the interest along the way. Throughout the years Jim had a wide range of animals, from horses and donkeys, to llamas and peacocks. Jim was a collector of chickens and was always on the search for the perfect flock that would lay him the most beautiful array of coloured eggs; Jim was an example to all in finding joy in the little things.

The family finds comfort in knowing he is resting eternally after a long life spent being a faithful servant to Jesus. Jim lived an honourable, gentle, peaceful and faith filled life. His mark on this earth will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on for many generations to come.

There will be a celebration of life for Jim held at the Likely Chapel, in Likely BC, on Saturday April 12, 2025 at 11AM.
