March 26, 1946 - May 6, 2024

In loving memory ~

Our world has parted with a huge personality. Glenn Thomas Shortreed passed away May 6, 2023 at the age of 77 at Royal Inland Hospital. His wife, Cheryl, two sons, Glenn Jr. and Ben and good friends Rodger and Jackie Edwards were at his bedside.

Glenn was born in Manitoba on March 26, 1946. Glenn grew up in Coquitlam, BC. After high school, he worked several jobs, played a lot of billiards and raced cars. In 1973, Glenn met the love of his life, Cheryl Brink. They married in 1975, in Tatla Lake, BC. Glenn and Cheryl, soon after purchased their first ranch in 1976, off the grid in Anahim Lake- a huge change from how Glenn grew up. However, Glenn found his second love in ranching. In 1976, Glenn purchased his first gravel truck to help subsidize their ranch. Glenn and Cheryl shared two sons, Glenn Jr., born in 1978 and Benjamin followed in 1980. In 1983, Cheryl and Glenn upgraded and purchased the Brink Family Ranch (KK Ranch aka Kleena Kleene Ranch). During their years as ranchers, Glenn and Cheryl became well known and respected for their hard work and dedication to their herd. They constantly were improving their herd by purchasing top notch bulls and were often the top bull buyers at sales. They dedicated their lives, and gave countless hours, to their animals and crops.

In retirement Glenn enjoyed a well deserved slow down in which he played A LOT of poker and spent time with his grandchildren; attending hockey and soccer games, Christmas plays and violin concerts. A favorite amongst the family were family dinners with Glenn, where lots of laughs took place and discussions of current events.

Glenn will be remembered by many for his unique charm, charisma and witty sense of humour. He was a very intelligent man, who possessed a vast set of skills and took pride in everything he did. He was a storyteller and a recognized energy in any room. He was full of positivity and laughter. He was a man amongst men, and a father who was always present and supportive.

One always knew where the stood with Glenn, as he was not one to "beat around the bush".

Glenn has left to mourn, his wife Cheryl, his sons Glenn (Sarah) and Benjamin (Amanda). His grandchildren Jaedyn (Meredythe), Adalyn, Hadley, Toben, Emmy and Mia. His brother, Graham (Bonnie) and nephew Ryan and sister Diane (Rick).
