It is with great sorrow that we announce that Gail passed peacefully at Cariboo Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side, after a decades-long battle with cancer.
Gail is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ted; sons, Guy (Sandi) and Garth (Reba); grandchildren, Connor (Sierra), Rowan (Fikayo), Petra (Garret), Brooke (Chris), and Cole (Taylor); great-grandson, Cash; and brother, Ted (Lucy) Routley. She was loved and will be deeply missed by many friends and extended family.
Gail was predeceased by her parents, Arnold (Pete) and Doris (née Smeeton) Routley, and her sister, Bev (Clark) Glanville. Gail was a longtime resident of Williams Lake and loved by all who knew her. She was a hard worker and dedicated to her family. She especially loved spending time visiting with family and friends, and caring for her gardens at the cabin on Cuisson Lake.
Many heartfelt thanks to Treena and the home care, wound care, and second floor staff at CMH for making her last year as comfortable as possible. Thank you all for showing her the kindness, compassion, and care that she so often extended to others.
At Gail's request, there will be no public service of remembrance. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her name.
