Audrey Burke (Nee Kinvig)

The Burke Family is saddened to announce the passing of Audrey (Mom) on September 19, 2023, at Cariboo Memorial Hospital. Audrey was born in Williams Lake to Edwin & Mabel Kinvig of Miocene. She was 1 of 5 daughters and grew up on the family ranch.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband Maurice, her parents and her sisters, Mabel Brown and Irene Eckert.
Audrey met Maurice Burke while working in Miocene and they married in 1956. They settled in the Kootenays before moving to Kelowna where they started their family. In 1962 the Cariboo called them back home where they resided until their passing.
Audrey was a dedicated mother and spent countless hours at the arena working in the concession for both minor hockey and the figure skating club. She was a member of the Princess Pine Chapter #67 Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime volunteer of Jobs Daughters. Audrey loved a good bazaar and always participated and contributed many beautiful projects. She was an active member of Cariboo Lanes and bowled into her early 80's.
"Mrs. Burke" always had an open door and will be fondly remembered for her kindness, warm welcome and caring hugs.
Audrey leaves to mourn her sisters, Shirley Crosina, and June Eckert, and her loving children, Patrick (Joan), Della (Mark) Boothby, Wayne (Caroline), Ross and Tana.
She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was a very special Auntie to numerous nieces & nephews, a loving cousin and an adopted mother to many.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Audrey & Maurice Burke on October 14, 2023, @ 1:00 p.m. at the Cariboo Bethel Church lower level.
