UPDATE: Wildfire spotted northwest of Quesnel being held

A spot wildfire was discovered northwest of Quensel on Wednesday night, July 9.

UPDATE 8:40 a.m.

The fire is now being held, meaning its expected to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.

A spot wildfire northwest of Quesnel was discovered on Wednesday night.

As of Thursday morning (July 10), the blaze is 0.009 hectares in size and remains out of control. However, BC Wildfire Service last updated the fire just after 8 p.m. on July 9.

The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

While northwest of Quesnel, the fire is also just east of Klushoil Lake Provincial Park, bordering the Cariboo Fire Centre and the Prince George Fire Centre.
