UPDATE
RCMP said Monday the investigation into the disappearance of Jordan McLeod is being treated as a homicide.
The investigation has extended into three different communities and involved more than 100 police officers and dozens of others since it began last week, the RCMP stated in a press release.
"Police are treating the investigation as a homicide, despite the fact that a body has not been found," the RCMP said. "Police believe that the vehicle McLeod was driving is an important piece of evidence and are once again appealing to the public to assist in locating it."
Investigators believe the burgundy 2006 Chevrolet Malibu is likely in a remote area near Vanderhoof, but said they are open to other possibilities. Officers are asking anyone that has the occasion to travel on rural roads including forest service roads, to report anything suspicious they may have noticed in the last two weeks.
McLeod is described as First Nations, 178 centimetres or 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 70 kilograms. He has short brown hair and brown eyes.
The Malibu has a licence plate number of 163RNA with 'Quality Assured Collision and Glass' decals on both doors.
Original story:
A missing Prince George man — 24-year-old Jordan Taylor McLeod — may have been involved with a shots fired report last weekend, the RCMP Prince George said Thursday.
"On Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 at approximately 11:45 p.m, Prince George RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the Upper Fraser Road area near Highway 16," the RCMP said in a press release. "Evidence was located at the scene that indicated someone may have been injured, however, no victim or suspect has been located."
Police said a vehicle was observed leaving the area immediately after the incident.
McLeod was reported missing on Monday, Jan. 19 and was last seen in Prince George and Vanderhoof on Friday, Jan. 16. He is believed to frequent Vanderhoof often.
Serious Crime investigators are asking the public’s help in locating the 2006 Burgundy Chevrolet Malibu the RCMP believe McLeod was driving last Friday.
Additionally, investigators are asking the public’s help in locating a grey 2013 Chrysler 200, registered in Vanderhoof but last seen in Quesnel on Thursday January 8.
"In addition to locating Jordan, we are asking the public to keep an eye out for these vehicles, especially on back roads between and around Prince George, Vanderhoof and Quesnel," the RCMP said. "If either vehicle is located, do not approach the vehicle, call 9-1-1 immediately. Police do not believe the public is in danger."
McLeod is described as a First Nations male, five feet and 10 inches tall, weighing 154 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
