UPDATE: Stolen Subaru linked to recent criminal activity in Vernon found

A blue 2018 Subaru Outback was stolen from a 33rd Street residence early morning Wednesday, June 5

UPDATE June 27:

Thanks to a tip from the public, police were able to track down a stolen vehicle.

A 2018 Subaru Outback stolen earlier this month has been recovered by Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

Police issued a public request for help locating the vehicle, and thanks to information received, the car has now been recovered.

"We really appreciate and want to thank the public and our media partners for their help," said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer.

While the vehicle was found, some of the contents inside, including a child's backpack, have not been recovered.

Police are on the hunt for a stolen vehicle that is connected to recent criminal activity in the area.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP issued a media release Tuesday morning seeking help with an ongoing investigation. Police say sometime during the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 5, a blue Subaru Outback was stolen from a home on 33rd Street. Police released photos of the vehicle, which they say is connected to some recent criminal activity in the Vernon area and has not yet been located. 

"We’re asking the public to keep an eye out for the vehicle in the pictures," said Const. Chris Terleski, RCMP media relations officer. "It may still be driving around but there’s a very good chance it has been parked or left abandoned somewhere."
