Traffic cleared after crash on Hwy. 1 near Rosedale

Traffic was bumper-to-bumper on Highway 1 near Rosedale following a single-vehicle crash on Friday (July 11) afternoon.

Update: 6:04 p.m.

Traffic appears to be flowing normally roughly three hours after a single-vehicle crash. Drivers in the area reported deadlocked traffic for several minutes following the initial crash near exit 135. 


Original Story: 

Chilliwack and Popkum fire departments have been paged to the scene of a crash on Highway 1 westbound between Annis Road and Highway 9. 

Scanner traffic indicates the airbags have been deployed on one vehicle in a bush and occupants have exited the vehicle. Traffic is backed up for a short distance near exit 135 heading to Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs. 

Two people are being assessed by paramedics.
