Ahead of the April 28 federal election, Efteen sent a list of questions to each of the candidates seeking the Member of Parliament seat in Cariboo-Prince George.

Each candidate was asked the same questions, there are seven candidates total in the riding. These are the answers received by PPC candidate Rudy Sans.

Advance polls for the election are open April 18 to April 21 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. People can register to vote, check their registration status and find more information about the electoral process at Elections.ca.

What qualities or experiences make you the best candidate for voters in Cariboo-Prince George to cast their ballot for?

I am a blue collar worker through and through, providing me with a clear understanding of the struggles most Canadians experience. I have also been communicating with people directly on a professional level for the last 30 years.

What, in your view, is the biggest issue facing voters in Cariboo-Prince George? How will you address it?

Affordability and inflation. Our Party’s drastic plan in addressing these issues include spending cuts to wasteful programs followed by tax cuts and a reduction in the Bank of Canada inflation target from 2 per cent to 0 per cent.

Does your party believe that human-caused climate change is real, and if so, what concrete plans does your party have to tackle it?

Our Party’s position is that there is no scientific consensus on the theory that CO2 produced by human activity is causing dangerous global warming today or will in the future, and that the world is facing environmental catastrophes unless these emissions are drastically reduced. We do not consider CO2 a “pollutant” but rather an essential building bloc for all life on earth, one that is critical for plant life.

Given the riding's size and centralization of Prince George, how will you ensure all of your constituents are represented?

As an MP, part of my responsibilities will be to travel through out my District to meet with my Constituents in order to address their concerns and bring them forward to Ottawa for resolve.

How is your party planning to deal with the trade threats coming from the U.S. administration, and/or the president’s talk of annexing Canada?

Our Party is committed to having an open discussion with the U.S. Administration where all trade agreements can be negotiated. This includes our own currently imposed tariffs on the U.S. as well as supply management issues. We do not support a trade war because it cannot be won and would only add more strain to Canadian consumers.
