Kelowna RCMP are investigating a crash that killed a 33-year-old woman on June 21.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Highway 97 and Burtch Road at about 3:15 p.m. for a two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. The pedestrian died on scene.
"We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the individuals who stopped to render assistance at the scene,” said Sgt Laura Pollock. “If you have been affected by this incident and require support, please contact the detachment. Our Victim Services team is available to provide compassionate and professional assistance during this difficult time."
RCMP said neither driver is suspected of being impaired at the time of the crash, but speed was a factor in the crash.
The investigation continues. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken with officers to come forward. Additionally, anyone with dashcam footage of the collision is asked to contact Kelowna RCMP with file number 2025-35133.
