Kelowna International Airport (YLW) was not extensively impacted by bomb threats that targeted several major Canadian airports on Thursday (July 3).

“The security incident had minimal impacts to regular operations at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) this morning,” YLW said in a statement. “Travellers are advised to check directly with their airline for the latest updates, as further delays are expected.”

Nav Canada, the country’s air navigation service provider, received bomb threats targeting its facilities in Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Calgary.

A temporary ground stop was implemented at the affected airports, and several locations were evacuated. There were no reports of anyone being injured, according to Nav Canada.

Some flights in and out of Kelowna are delayed, due to the threats at other Canadian airports. YLW passengers can check the airport’s website for up-to-date flight information.

Nav Canada has not provided details, but is continuing to investigate the incidents.
