Crash impeding traffic on highway in Grindrod

A crash on Highway 97 in Grindrod is causing delays Thursday afternoon, June 19.

Traffic is being affected due to a crash on Highway 97A in Grindrod Thursday afternoon. 

The crash took place before 2 p.m. June 19 by the Grindrod post office. 

Traffic is down to single-lane alternating. 

The Enderby Fire Department is on scene along with an ambulance and two RCMP vehicles. 

A pair of civilians were directing traffic with signs from the Enderby Fire Department around 2 p.m., according to a Efteen reporter at the scene. 

The collision involved two vehicles, according to RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleksi, who added tow trucks have been called to remove the vehicles. 

"Once that is done, the road should be back to fully open," Terleski said by email at 2:40 p.m.

BC Emergency Health Services received a call about the crash between 3rd and 4th avenues around 1:30 p.m. One ambulance with primary care paramedics went to the scene. 

"There were no patients requiring hospital transport,” said paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites.
