One person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a motor-vehicle collision Friday afternoon near Fox Mountain Road and Highway 97 North.

Due to the heavy snowfall, the RCMP responded to a number of minor collisions, including one Friday morning near 140 Mile where a lumber truck went off the road. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Road conditions at the time are suspected to be the reason. RCMP encourage commercial vehicle and semi trucks to carry and use chains as well they urge drivers to be cautious of the trucks when they are stopped in the roadway to chain up.

The RCMP note when road conditions are poor, drivers should use caution, drive with lights on, be considerate of traffic and carry chains or have appropriate winter tires.
