Update June 17:
A fire burning south of Mabel Lake is now under control.
The Ireland Creek blaze sits at approximately 8.77 hectares, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
Lightning is the suspected cause of the fire, which was first discovered on June 11.

The wildfire near Lumby has now been held.
Peaking at 8.77 hectares in size, the Ireland Creek blaze has now been classified as held.
Update: 6 p.m. June 12
The Ireland Creek wildfire northeast of Lumby is now 10 hectares in size.
BC Wildfire Service updated its reporting on the size of the blaze around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12.
The fire remains classified as out of control, meaning it is spreading or expected to spread beyond its current perimeter.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the North Okanagan, saying conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.

An out-of-control wildfire has been spotted east of Vernon and Armstrong.
The Ireland Creek wildfire, north of Lumby, was discovered on Wednesday, June 11 and as of 11:15 p.m. is 4.7 hectares in size.
BC Wildfire Service states the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation but a thunderstorm rolled through the area overnight.
No evacuations orders are in place.
On Thursday, the high in the area is 26 degrees with showers and a risk of a thunderstorm.
