Members of the Fit City Athletica powerlifting team in Williams Lake demonstrated exceptional strength and dedication at the Winfred Memorial APO powerlifting meet in Concord, New Hampshire earlier in November. Representing the local gym with pride, three athletes from the team took the platform and showcased their hard work and dedication.
Leading the team was Fit City Athletica owner Brett Potter, who competed in the Men’s Open 125kg class. Potter impressed with a powerful performance, recording a 738-pound squat, a 578-pound bench press, and a 601-pound deadlift. These impressive lifts earned him the honour of second-best overall lifter at the meet, marking a standout achievement among a field of talented competitors.
Also competing was Pacey Boomer in the Junior 100kg class. Boomer put up impressive numbers with a 650-pound squat, a 347-pound bench press, and a 507-pound deadlift. His performance reflected the dedication and training he has committed to his lifting journey.
Ryan Arnold, representing Fit City in the Junior 90kg class, also delivered a strong performance with a 550-pound squat, a 295-pound bench press, and a 405-pound deadlift. Arnold’s effort was a testament to the focus and skill he’s developed through the support and resources at Fit City Athletica.
Brett Potter expressed his pride in his team’s achievements.
“I couldn’t be more proud of Pacey and Ryan for the hard work they put into this meet. Their dedication and commitment are what make this team special,” said Potter. “I’d also like to thank my sponsor and our supporters for making this journey possible.”
