The Williams Lake Mustangs lost by one goal in a shootout to the visiting Kamloops Storm on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Noah Paulsen scored the shootout winner for the Storm, adding to his goal and an assist.
Williams Lake had scored one in the first period, Kaelen Swanson sending it home with help from Noah Pears and Asher Lucas, but Teghan Mullin evened it up in the second, with help from Noah Paulson and Luca D'Amore.
The Storm continued to come on strong, with three goals in the second and only one making it into the net from the Mustangs.
A goal by Noah Paulsen’ in the third period gave the Storm a 4-3 lead.
Storm goalie Brenner Fyfe made 44 saves along with three in the shootout while Evan Leggett saved 43 of 47 shots on goal.
Kaelan Swanson led the scoring for the Mustangs with two goals and three points and Noah Pears collected two assists.
The Mustangs next home games are Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. against the Nelson Leafes and Saturday, Oct. 12 against the Grand Forks Border Bruins.
