Williams Lake Little Britches Rodeo competitors rope in wins

Braidey Hinsche wins senior girls all around, Tryan Rivet wins senior boys reserve all around

The Williams Lake Stampede Grounds were busy with the Little Britches Rodeo May 25 and 26.

Competitors had to deal with wet and muddy conditions as it had been raining in the weeks leading up to the competition and it rained off and on over the weekend.

On Sunday morning a few of the cowboys and cowgirls doing goat tail tying lost a boot to the thick mud in the arena and

the dummy roping was purposely moved to a grassy section instead.

Emerging as the overall winners for the weekend were:

Molly Sanderson, West Kelowna: Junior Girls All Around

Maddy Dagg, West Kelowna: Junior Girls Reserve All Around

Rex Walden, Kamloops: Junior Boys All Around

Lane Barron, Kamloops: Junior Boys Reserve All Around

Braidey Hinsche, Williams Lake: Senior Girls All Around

Paige Cady, Kamloops: Seniors Girls Reserve All Around

Colby Ignace, Savona: Senior Boys All Around

Tryan Rivet, Williams Lake: Senior Boys Reserve All Around

The weekend June 1 and 2, the Little Britches Rodeo will be in Merritt as the circuit continues, followed by Falkland June 15 and 16, Barriere July 6 and 7, Langley July 27, Thompson Nicola Aug. 10 and 11, 100 Mile House Aug. 17 and 18 and Prince George Aug. 24 and 25.
