Some young Williams Lake swimmers are being buoyed by the support of the Lakers Car Club.

The Blue Fins Swim Club gratefully accepted a donation of $1,300 from the Lakers Car Club, funds earned during the Lakers annual Spring Roundup Show and Shine in Williams Lake.

Blue Fin swimmers and supporters were the ones staffing the hot dog stand during the Spring Roundup.

"The swim club volunteered and did a great job cooking and selling gourmet quality hotdogs," said the car club on their website.

Each year, a community organization helps to staff the stand and raise funds for their group.

The Lakers Car Club is hosting an Evening Motor Madness event the Williams Lake Visitor Centre at 1660 South Broadway from 6:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 27. The event is aimed at building the car community and is open to anyone.

"Bring your trucks, your bikes, your off-road rigs, your cars, your classics, your work in progress and even any vehicle that you don’t think is worth being in a car meet — bring it," said the event on the club's social media page.
