There will be one more chance to celebrate the North Okanagan based non-profit sports society, Kal RATS.

The society is shutting its doors at the end of 2024, after more than 30 years.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, the Kal Park Cross Country Run will take place.

"This race is the fourth race in the Interior Running Association Cross Country races and will bring athletes and families from Vernon and throughout the Okanagan," said Darlene Wood, president of Kal RATS. "The race will provide a beautiful yet challenging course."

A nine kilometre run and a 2.5 km fun run will be taking place, both starting and finishing at Jade and Juniper Bay.

Halloween costumes are encouraged, with anyone who dresses up having the chance to win a prize.

For racers of the nine km run, a draw for a pair of New Balance shoes will take place.
